Extremely rude and yelled at me while I was ordering.

Best Chinese in Roanoke. Always have good food here. It is cash only. Definitely as someone else said, the area is bad location after dark.

I haven’t left a review before but I feel this place really deserves it. I was in town for a night on the way to NC and wanted some Chinese food but reading through the reviews of several places I was a bit worried. I decided on China Lite as there were many positive reviews although I was a bit worried because of the 1 star reviews. I must say I couldn’t be happier with my decision. The staff was friendly, nice, and attentive. The food came out quickly and was cooked fresh. What put the nail in the coffin was the pork lo mein. It has to be the best pork lo mein I have had anywhere. Nice pieces of pork, nice vegetables, and it isn’t too greasy. Overall this place is fantastic and really deserves the business. I would highly recommend.

After relocating here from Florida I'm going to 3 Chinese food restaurants and have not been satisfied we're happy at all with our food. I walked into this restaurant it looks run down they had no AC and it was very boring as far as decor. However, very impressed with the food it was all delicious and this will now be my local Chinese restaurant.

Consider it take out only, cash only. Would be nice to see cheaper dinner entree options. With that said, food is fantastic.Edit: To expound upon cheaper dinner options: The only difference between say the Gen. Tso lunch special and the small Gen. Tso dinner is... you'll pay 2+ dollars more for the dinner. Size of portion is same.

My house is on the other side of town and my delivery is still timely and the food is always hot and fresh. Plus it's nice to have food delivered, besides pizza, that accepts cash.

Didnt get any real food just 2 egg rolls for my walk. They were verry good. Hot and fresh out of the cooker. Can't wait to try the orange chicken.👍👍

This place has gone down over the years. The customer service is horrible. First they only take cash for both carry out and delivery, next of you order over the phone for pick up they dont start cooking until you arrive and pay. Whats the point in calling before hand? Then the place isnt very appealing. Definitely would never eat there. Food is decent, the closest taste to NY style(where im from) but...

Nice Lil Chinese place

So the comments on here are actually pretty hilarious. Rude, but great food lol. I could care less just make my food.Anyways, I gave them a try. The food is good. The delivery was fast. The food was hot, fresh and tasty. The guy on the phone was nice. He did explain cash only. The delivery driver was nice. Decent prices, good amount of food. I would try them again. I got wings, chicken lomein dinner combo and pepper steak dinner combo and a sprite...I think with all taxes and fees $27...

Don't know why when you call for a delivery order the person on the phone always tries to be aggressive, lol. Not a great thing to sit there and be rude to a customer ordering $20.00+ worth of food. I think If you guys were a little more polite you'd get a lot more business and you'd have a lot more than 3.3 stars.EDIT: Food Is great though, will bump the stars up.

Last time I was there I ordered chicken wings. They were old, fried in old oil and the batter was old. Tasted HORRIBLE. They arent courteous neither.👎

I called and placed an order and the lady was very disrespectful and then my husband called to cancel the order the lady hung up and then we called again and she was being very rude and then hung up after cussing us out!! I recommend to not order there or go there!!!!!

I just moved to Roanoke from North Carolina and ive been to China Lite a few times. the establishment is CASH ONLY which don't make sense becus I've never seen a cash only establishment. they need to catch up with the times. Other than that they suck becus they're staff is very rude. I was eating here alone on my lunch break and the lady was very rude to me and asked me a rude question. She asked "why do you eat alone"? I said cus I'm on my lunch break. she muttered under her breathe "weird" and then she said "you must not have any friends". I said I had plenty of friends I just wanted to eat alone and she laughed at me and again muttered "weird" under her breathe. I don't know if i'll come back cus they just too rude. Food is pretty good... but I just can't deal with these rude ignorant people. Nothin' wrong with eating alone. I eat alone a lot of places it aint weird at all... they the weird ones to think its weird!!

Great food at China Lite but wow. Such disrespectful and rude staff. I tried them for the first time and didn't know they only accepted cash. The staff said "You need cash!!!!!" Really loudly and yelled "Go get cash!!!" I said I had some cash and she said "You sure"? i said of course and handed her the cash money. She then insulted me and said "I didn't think you had any money, you look a little poor". I have never been told I look "poor" by anyone, ever in my life. Whats wrong with these people? Really enjoyed my meal... best egg roll i've ever had.. but didn't like the insulting talk.Next time be a little more respectful. BTW, this was NOT a language barrier. I asked her what "poor" meant and she said "it means you don't have any money".

Order was taken with attitude lady totally rude then got my order all wrong and everything probably wont order all wrong

I love the food and everytime I make a order they are never rude but just one change don't use anymore styrofoam please use plastic other than that everything is amazing

Older guy behind the counter was eating some form of berries he spit the seeds in his hand and then started making my food without washing his hands I told him that was disgusting he said you leave now

I don't like it, food taste completely different, the place doesn't have a heater or ac. I ordered BBQ spare ribs and I only taste lemon on my ribs not BBQ...👎🏼🤮

I CALLED TO ORDER AND THE LADY WAS VERY DISRESPECTFUL THEN I CALLED BACK TO CANCEL AND SHE SAID “f$&@ you!!” AND HUNG UP. WILL NEVER GET FOOD FROM HERE AGAIN. SPREAD THE WORD. 🤬😤

This guy just told me he can't deliver to the left side of town when I asked if he deliver in general.... I got the number to the place because an employee at the Steel Dynamics I am pickingup at (2 miles away) orders food from this place a couple times a week. Lazy establishment with piss poor attitude towards customers.

I enjoyed the food from China Lite on Melrose Ave. Ordered a General Tso's w/ fried rice. Very good. However, the employees are very unpleasant. I went there alone, and sat in the restaurant and ate my food alone. I told one of the employees "Your food was good" after I ate. He replied "If it's so good, why did you eat alone"? I said because I wanted to eat alone, and asked him what was wrong with eating alone. Instead of telling me what he thought was wrong with eating alone, he said "You don't have any friends" and walked to the back and started cooking. Why would he say I didn't have any friends? So random... He doesn't even know me. Very unpleasant and also rude.

Everyone in my house is sick with the flu so we order General Tso's chicken to be delivered so we don't have to cook or go out. They send us sweet and sour chicken which no one in my house eats. So we call to tell them the order is wrong and are berated on the phone and cussed out for no reason. So i take the food back and once again completely disrespeted by 1 employee. Needless to say we will never eat there again. They are completely rude and disrespectful to there customers when they make a mistake.

Really unprofessional and they act like you owe them something and just heard from a friend that he saw a RAT runing around in there so if you do t wanna get sick DONT GO THERE am glad now i never ate there and never will

Okay well I'm from DC and we are known for chicken wings and mumbo sauce with fries. And I found this place and fell in love, it's definitely not DC chicken but close to it. It's all I get from here.
